Abi Watkins update

Abigail’s progress over the last 9 months is outstanding. Her determination to perfect her fencing finesse and improve her fitness shows maturity aiming towards further GBR selection. The support CG5 in the form of equipment and Sport Worcester’s development grant for coaching has proven invaluable. Her new goal is continued international Cadet selection plus Welsh National selection. (Abi also trains with Hereford Pentathlon who use her to develop their fencers)

Abi was selected to represent Wales in the Senior 5 Nations event in 5th November in Manchester and GBR U17 Cadets in Kladenfurt Austria 29th October. Last weekend she reached her first senior (adult) final at the Bedford Open a senior competition.
Presently her GBR Rankings are U17 Cadet 17th; U20 Junior 12th; and Senior adult 37th, not bad for a girl who has just turned 15

Key achievements over that period

  • Selected twice to represent GBR U17 (Cadet).
