Peter was born into blue and white stripes in West Bromwich and went to boarding school at Malvern College and then to Birmingham University. After graduating in law, he followed his father Sir Bert Millichip into the legal profession and became one of the pioneers of Sports Law in the 1990’s when sport became a serious business with the advent of the Premier League and Sky television. He worked alongside Lord Digby Jones, and Oxford University Sports, and later alongside Sir Bobby Robson in promoting opportunities for young people through the medium of sport.
Sport has been the cornerstone of my life, socially and professionally, but most of all for its pure enjoyment.
I have been fortunate enough to work in an area which has also been my passion. Perceived wisdom now is that sport promotes the health, wellbeing, disciplines and opportunities necessary for young people to achieve their potential. It provides a platform and springboard for achievement.
I am proud and privileged to have been invited to be a patron of CG5. Its values are the same as mine, and I look forward to giving it my fullest support
